Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Loc Extension Consultation.

The consultation assesses scalp health, hair length, density, and previous chemical or heat history. We’ll examine your strands and discuss goals to determine whether extensions are suitable, recommend protective methods, or suggest preparatory treatments to build strength before installation.

We consider natural hair texture, thickness, length availability, scalp condition, and lifestyle. Your maintenance preferences and desired look influence whether we recommend interlocking, crochet, sisterlocks, or traditional palm-rolling techniques to ensure longevity without compromising natural hair health.

Minimum length depends on the method, but typically three to four inches of healthy growth is preferred for secure attachment. During the consultation we’ll measure, assess strength, and advise if additional growth or preparatory treatments are necessary before proceeding.

Properly installed and maintained extensions minimize damage. The consultation identifies risks like tension, uneven weight, or poor attachment. We’ll recommend methods and aftercare to protect strands, suggest trimming or strengthening treatments, and schedule maintenance to avoid breakage or thinning.

Consultations typically last 30 to 60 minutes. We perform a hair and scalp analysis, measure length and density, discuss your style goals, review extension options and pricing, and create a customized plan including timelines and preparatory care before scheduling installation.

Clean, dry hair is preferred so we can accurately evaluate your scalp and strand condition. Avoid heavy products or tight styles; gently detangle if possible. If unable to, we’ll still assess and recommend a prep routine or salon wash before installation.
